face mask experiment

Claim:

"A face mask protects others but not yourself."

Let's make  a simple experiment:

Hold a handkerchief (or a bandanna or a T-Shirt or ...) in front of your face.

Then breathe out.
The handkerchief will move away from your face.

Then breathe in.
The handkerchief will move near your face.

Conclusion:
While breathing in a higher percentage of air will be filtered.

Of course there are other aspects to be considered.

Now a little advice:
If your face mask has two gaps on both sides of the nose put some cotton wool in these gaps.
And:
WASH YOUR HANDS!
